Access Control

Bedfordshire Alarms offers competitively priced audio and visual door entry systems and can supply ready-made package solutions through to bespoke systems for multiple buildings with hundreds of entrances. These systems can complement other security devices already in operation, affording better protection to people and premises.

Access Control

  • monitors the movement of people within the premises
  • replaces conventional locks and the need for replacement in the event of lost keys
  • controls where and when staff can enter and leave buildings
  • allows specific access by individuals to building areas at specified times.

Access Control Systems range in complexity and cost. The most basic system uses a keypad requiring a code. This is relatively inexpensive and easy to use. However,  it is the least secure, as codes are easily misappropriated.

Card Readers, also known as Proximity Tags, are pre-programmed cards held near the sensor to operate the lock. If a card is lost, it is deactivated, and security is not compromised.

Biometric systems, which use fingerprints, iris scanners, and voice identification, are more expensive but offer greater security and are usually used in sensitive situations.
